I have been working with Visual Foxpro database for my system using VB6. However, I find it very slow in loading to grids and updating to the tables once you have more data. If may take about 8 to 10 seconds just to load about 100 items into a data grid. Could anyone advise me on whatever solutaions to make it faster? [sig][/sig]

Are you using ADO? [sig]<p>Jim<br><a href= > </a><br>oracle, vb, some javascript[/sig]

I'm using classes to define the fields in VB6 and I'm using MSFlexGrid to display the data lists and using the SQLUpdate to update to the Visual Foxpro database. [sig][/sig]

I'm not sure that it's the same situation, or not, but when I
first retrieve records in my ado / odbc app, it takes several
seconds even to retrieve one record. The second retrieval
is much faster, even with multiple records, as are subsequent
retrievals. It's just that first one that is really slow.
What I am considering doing is firing a
'get one record' procedure during form load, not even
displaying it anywhere, but just to get past the delay involved
in the first retrieval. [sig]<p>Jim<br><a href= > </a><br>oracle, vb, some javascript[/sig]
