Is it possible to launch a CR 8.5 report(SQL 7.0,via ODBC) using VB, so a user without CR can run it?

With the Professional Edition?

If you want to write the RDC code yourself, you need Develioper.

Some of the viewers listed on Ken's site can be invoked via a RUN command (passing the report file name as an argument).
In that case, you won't need Developer because the RunTime handling of the Crystal report is done by the Viewer.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. Can I buy the Cr ver 9.0 Developer UPGRADE edition to upgrade from 8.5 Professional, or do I need to buy the full version of 9.0 Developer.

Thanks

As far as I know, you can use the "Upgrade" pricing provided you already have ANY crystal version on your PC.

typically has good prices.
