I'm having a problem with vb5 telling me that some of the common controls (sp2) are not licensed for development. I have re-installed vb5 enterprise and service pack 3 and no change. any ideas?
I had this problem and I had to uninstall all the visual basic software and manually remove the OCXs and there DEP files. Most of the problems are in the DEP files with their version numbers being out of sinc with the Version on the control.
Microsoft has an utility to fix licensing problems on their web site on the downloads section at
I think it might be vbc.exe!?
P.S. Once I had to trash my primary partition and reinstall NT when I had this problem as nothing seemed to fix it.

Try running VBCTRLS.REG from \TOOLS\CONTROLS. This should update the licenses correctly
