I have been using VB5 as a front end to an Access 97 database. I'm running under Windows 95. I recently installed Access 2000 and can't get VB5 to work properly with it. I keep getting the 'unrecognized database format' error. I've downloaded and installed DCOM95 and MDAC 2.5, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas? Thanks - Ham Rutledge

Doug - I am using VB5 Enterpize edition. If I need jet4.0, will it work with VB5?
Doug - thanks for the lead. I did go to the MS Knowledge Base and searched on 'jet 4.0' and came up Article ID Q238401. Don't know if it will help, but it sure looks impressive. Thanks again - Ham Rutledge

Doug - I didn't contact Eric De Decker, as the resolution outlined in the Knowledge Base Article Q238401 solved the problem.
