We're currently light years behind on our development platform, still stuck back in 1996 on VB5. Currently, our company is moving all the users to Windows XP - that should be complete by mid-2004. We've been getting our applications ready for the move; however, some of them won't work on XP and need to be looked at. When we go to setup the existing environment on XP, we have problems with registering and using alternative versions of some of the OCX's, particularly the Windows Common Controls (comctl32.ocx, comct232.ocx) and the Windows Common Dialog Box (comdlg32.ocx). When we attempt to load a project that references the alternative versions, we get a popup with a message like:
"Cannot load control GroupingItemShifter; license not found."
Any ideas? Has anyone had to go through anything similar with XP?
