Hi,
At my work, we have started thinking of our best approach to future development. A question many people seem to be asking is; "what's best - VB or Java?" Anybody have any thoughts on that? or seen articles on the web which give the pro's and cons of each (I suppose in the case of VB, we also need to consider the move to .net)? Also, is there room for both vb.net and java? Like, depending on the requirements, some apps are best written in java whilst others are best written in vb?
Any thoughts/pointers would be welcome
Thanks

Like always people say for this type of question; it all depends on what are you planning to do.

Are you developing a Web application? If yes, then I would consider Java along with other Web tools.

Are you developing an application which is: need to customize oftenly, must be completed in a minute:-I, Windows based, has some reports and must be able to read/write to a database? If yes, then I would prefer VB.

I only know a little about VB.Net so sorry I can say nothing about it.
