Has anyone ever used the Resoure Editor ?

How is it useful, if you add an icon for instance, how can you assign the icon to a form ?

Any insight on this subject would be helpful.

First, you have to find out if there's any benefit in using a resource file. You can store icons in a resource file and retrieve them at runtime and assign them to your forms. But why not do that at designtime?
Well, maybe you want to assign different icons to the same controls in different situations, e.g. depending on the user's language you can assign an icon to a control which represents his country (a flag). Or you can display texts on controls depending on the user's language.
If that's the case, then take a look at

Once you know the trick, resource files are easy to maintain.
