vb.net deployment with embedded MSDE database.

Scenerio: Creating a vb.net desktop application with an embedded MSDE database to be installed with an install package on uncontrolled target machines. Wanted to use the MSDE Deployment Toolkit but it requires full blown visual studio.net professional. I only have the vb.net version.

1. First problem no template for installer class.

I tried to code it without the template but the install class was missing for System.Configuration ie. imports System.Configuration.(Install was missing from the intel-a-type)

I didn't want to spend a lot of time to learn the setup boot-strapper.

Microsoft is recommending not to use merge modules.
Is my only option spending the money to upgrade?

well life can be simple, either you take the time to learn something either you pay somebody else to do the work for you.
