VB.NET 2010 Windows 7 and Access Pauses

Hi Folks.

I recently got a new laptop running windows 7 64 bit. I ported over my VB apps, which use OLEDB to connect to an access database.

Originally this was a 2003 db and used Jet4, but I have upgraded it to 2007 and now use the ACE 12 driver.

I have modified the project to use x86 CPU.

Part of the reason that I upgraded to ACE 12/Access 2007 from JET4 was because retrieval of some records sometimes pauses for an inordinate period of time, then (usually) continues. However, the same occurs if I use ACE 12.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this might be causing this?
