vb editor behaving oddly

I have been using the VB editor for years without any problem now, suddenly, it has a mind of its own.
when I type me. the "me.[/color red]" turns red immediately and the object list, which should open after me., just flashs for an instance and then disappears. if I continue the line the last full word transposes some of its letters.e.g. False shows as lsefa
it is probably something I have done (a combination of keystrokes?) but I can't seem to get out of it.
any suggestions would be much appreciated.TIA

Have you gat a form with a timer even open at the same time as you are in VB editor in design view

Hi Jimmy. Thanks for the input but I didn't have any timer running.
However, it seems to be ok at the moment even though this has happened 2-3 times before, I can't work out what it is I am doing to trigger the problem.
