Hello,
I develop in VB6, using Access2000 and CR 4.6.1.0. I am getting clients to download my CAB files from the internet. There are 4 of them at around 5 Meg each (20 meg in total).
I am now having a variety of problems with installation and application functions on customers machines, the issues arise alot from unregistered files, incorrect reporting etc. I have noticed that these problems have become more abundant since I have allowed downloads from the internet, could it be that the long download times (usually around 1.5 hrs) corrupts certain files during the download. I also understand that these problems may be due to other factors such as the installation program etc (I am changing from VB6 PDW to Wise) and the customer computer.
I am interested to get opinions from people who have distributed software over the internet (particularily large files) and whether they believe there is a higher frequency of installation problems from internet downloads.
Thank You
