Could anyone please help me i am writing a program to help manage networking on a server etc. I need to be able to open Active directory from the program. Have tried using shell but cannot open the .msc can run .exe from the shell command Shell ("ntbackup.exe") but cannot run "dsa.msc or any other .msc Please help!

Why dont you try from a common dialog? - Just a thought not sure if it'll work the way you want it to?

Can you run the msc file directly from the command prompt?

What happens if you run MMC from the command prompt?

Have you tried shell(mmc c:\winnt\system32\dfrg.msc)

(assumes Windows 2000 pro)

No problem...

The msc extension should be associated with mmc anyway! but I guess its safer not to assume that...
