VB APP to run SQL Query, Clean and email the results

I'd like to write a VB APP to run an SQL Query (that I've written) then clean and compile the results in an excel format and email them out on a daily basis. I've only got the idea at this point and I'm wondering first if this is a realistic possibility. Secondly any help allowing me to make this project a reality would be greatly appreciated.

Yes VB can do all of that and more.
