VB 6 Package and Deployment Wizard w/ CR 8.5 1

I have a VB 6 application that uses Crystal Reports 8.5 to produce reports. I have compiled the program, and was working on the setup wizard using the Package & Deployment Wizard from Microsoft Visual Studio. When using the Package wizard it said that the package needed a file called Crystal. It wasn't any more specific than that. I haven't located a file just called Crystal on my machine.

Has anyone else ran across this?

I have an older version of this application that uses Crystal Reports 6.0 and I don't have any problems, just with CR 8.5.

I am looking for ideas.

I have ran into that issue in version 6,7, and 8. I have done several different things to overcome the issue(none of them are the best nor proper workarounds)Sometimes you can skip the file when it asks for "crystal" and everything will be fine. Depending on what version and what type of install you have done with crystal, there may be a folder called "crystal" that PDW will accept. I have also in the past manually installed and registered the required dlls on the client machine. My most common solution was to use another installer such as installShield or InstallAnywhere. If you find out the real solution, please post it. Sorry I could not help out more.

I just had this problem with CR8 in which VB asked for the Crystal directory and I skipped it. The U25store.dll and U25total.dll were present because I knew to look for them. After the install the crystal error "Errors Encountered" was dis[played. I ran the setup with InstallShield, and was fine.
