But to answer your question--it's too basic. VB.Net could be used to describe VB.Net 2002/VB.Net 2003/VB 2005/VB 2008. So, what do you mean by VB.Net?
All of those languages are .Net languages, but in the past couple of versions, Microsoft hasn't been using the word ".Net" in as many titles. But yes, there are differences, mostly enhancements or added functionality in each successive version--both to the language itself and to the .Net framework.
