Is it possible to install a project created in VB 2008 on older PCs? Will you have to check for a specific verison of .Net Architecture to ensure it works? Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree anyway.

So when I distribute my VB 2008 project to older PC's, can I do it, or do I need to jump through some hoops.

Windows XP will be fine.

System requirements for .Net framework 3.5 do not list Windows 2000.

The .Net framework 2.0 lists Windows 2000 SP3 in the requirements.

I would assume that if you targeted your application to .Net 2.0 it would work on Windows 2000 SP3. But I haven't deployed anything to Windows 2000 in a long time so I cannot be sure.

RiverGuy,
Thank you so much! I search all over and coudn't find links.

I will read the links and get my research documented.

A star for you, sir, of course!

Christine

Well, I do want to point out that I want to use LINQ. I'm not sure if I targeted my application to .Net 2.0 that I'd lose that functionality.

As you can see, I do not know what I'm talking about, I'm in the process of learning. I do apologize if I am making a confusing comment/question.
