After 32 -> 64bit conversion on AIX 5.2.8,

backup2vg is a vg for 1 TB filesystem.
I was getting this:

# varyonvg backup2vg
PV Status: hdisk180 0003404af2a015ba PVNOTFND
hdisk181 0003404af2a01697 PVNOTFND
hdisk182 0003404af2a01776 PVNOTFND
hdisk183 0003404af2a01842 PVNOTFND
hdisk184 0003403a213df99e PVNOTFND
hdisk185 0003403a213dfb7c PVNOTFND
hdisk29 0003403a538662e8 PVINVG
hdisk30 0003403a09654b27 PVINVG
0516-052 varyonvg: Volume group cannot be varied on without a quorum. More physical volumes in the group must be active.
Run diagnostics on inactive PVs.

But, now I am getting this, and can't do any troubleshooting.

# varyonvg backup2vg
0516-008 varyonvg: LVM system call returned an unknown
error code (3).

How do you fix this issue?

Probably a issue with a device driver (multipath software?) for some of your disks which tries to load a kernel extension that was installed when in 32bit kernel mode and now the KE won't load into a 64bit kernel. You might want to try and reinstall the device driver...

What type of disks are hdisk180 to hdisk185?

try

lsdev -Ccdisk

(I'd hazard a guess some of the disks are in the "defined" state instead of "available)

what output does

mkdev -l hdisk180

give?
