Variables in Email workflow task

a) The email task shows variables (like %l) available for the email text, but doesn't seem to work. It comes in as a literal "%l". Are they just there to fool us?

b) Is there any way to get a user-defined workflow variable into the workflow email task? Even if a) worked I'd really want b).

a) that only works for session email - not in the task.

b) not sure about this one - what are you trying to do?

I was thinking of collecting row counts as I went through multiple sessions inthe workflow, and sending one e-mail at the end.

But looks like I'll have to write a file and attach it.
