Variables From Flash to Java Script

In looking at the flash to javascript example that you can find at Macromedia's site

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_15683

It shows you how to display a message window displaying the variable you type in.
How can I pull the specific variable [inputVar] that is defined in flash and use it in the html code
I would like to be able to write out the variable into fields on the html page.

You can just use getURL("javascript:someJSFunction('someArg')") to invoke JavaScript function in the hosting HTML page. (If this was what you meant!)
