How do I set a variable print area

Excel 97 - I have assigned to a button a macro which sets the print area, then prints. However, the number of rows to print is dependant upon the user input and the result of various calculations. How can I include within the macro a variable “print area” that will print from row 1 to row X. (X being calculated by user input – and in a hidden cell).

Why do you need to set a print area at all? Do you have data below the data you want to print? Best to put it onto another sheet or to the right of the printable stuff. If you have data to the RIGHT of the data you want to print, then just choose the COLUMNS you want to print as the print area.

Hope this helps. If not, then knowing why you need to set a print area will help us answer better.
