I have two clients using Outlook Express 6 and XP

Both clients have this same problem:
During typing a reply or a newly created mail, the text can just disapear to be replaced with a blank page. This happens seemingly randomly and sometimes doesn't occur for weeks on end. The vanishing emails cannot be found in any of the folders - drafts, outbox, deleted items, sent items or inbox. The two middle aged women are in different locations with their own dedicated machines and both use 'two finger typing'.
I wondered if anyone has come across this situation and whether there is a particular set of key strokes that could be the cause. I have not been able to reenact the situation myself and have not been able to see it happen whilst looking over their shoulders.

I'd be most grateful for any thoughts on this as it is becoming quite an issue especially with one client who is in the habit of typing long emails.

They're not hitting CTRL+N are they? That creates a new email and makes it look like the other has disappeared. However, the "lost" email should reappear after they send the new one. I've had users hit CTRL+N in both Word and Outlook and freak out thinking that they've lost everything.

We don't use OE but I tested it on a machine with OE and CTRL+N has the same effect.

Cheers.

cmeagan656, good point! Yes that would indeed be confusing to the uninitiated. I will tell them to look at the 'To' and 'Subject' spaces to see if they have changed when their email vanishes. Many thanks.
