Outlook Problem
Mail Server: NT4
Client OS: NT4 sp6 & Win 2000
MS Office: 97 & 2000
Exchange: v 5.5
Hi, I hope someone can help me! We have a sporadic problem with email attachments on 2 desktop PC’s. One is running W2K with Outlook 2000, and the other NT4 with Outlook 97.
Every once in a while the users concerned will receive and email with an attachment. They open the attachment, read it, and then close it and/or the email. On attempting to reopen the attachment in the original email at a later time, the attachment has either vanished completely, or opens but is an empty document with the original title.
I can find no common denominator. The OS & Office versions are different. The source of the emails is inconsistent – it can happen on internal and external emails, and is only occurring every now and then. Additionally, the attachment so far has been either an Excel spreadsheet, or a Word document. There doesn’t seem to be just one thing I can pin it down to!
Please help! It’s driving me nuts!
Cheers,
Jude
