Hi,
I have a validation rule in which users must enter three letters followed by three numbers. I have the rule as 'aaa999'. However, when users enter data, the table lets them get away with three letters only. Shouldn't my validation rule make them enter the three letter/three number combination?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I would assume that you have a validation rule on a form at data entry level, if this is so, this will have no effect on entries made at the table level and the validation rule needs to be at table level.

Validation Rules at table level will be effective at form level but not the other way round.

Try this:

"LLL000"

Because:
L - Letter (A to Z, entry required).
a - Letter or digit (entry optional).
0 - Digit (0 to 9, entry required, plus [+] and minus [–] signs not allowed).
9 - Digit or space (entry not required, plus and minus signs not allowed).
