In Access table design view / properties, the validation rules for any text data type(ie. ??)is kicking all end-users out of Access with non-specific error message- "Access has generated errors...." - wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem or if it could have something to do with our Image or software load

As a matter of fact I saw it at a client site last week. The circumstance was not the same as yours, but the error messages and results were exactly the same. The PC’s were infected with the latest Klez worm variant.

Obviously, the first thing you should do is a virus scan. If you are not infected your database might be corrupted. To be sure, create a brand new database. Build one small table consisting of three fields with at least one being a text field. Try to create a validation rule on one of the text fields. If it works, then obviously the database you have been using is corrupted. There are specific corrective processes to solve the problem depending on the version of Access you are using. If these steps don’t help, post back with as much detailed information as possible.
