Validate two separate fields to populate subjectline of web form

Hello, I am designing a web form where we want the last and first name to appear in the subject line of an email. These are two separate text box fields, I can only get one of the fields to validate. Any suggestions on how to get both of them to validate with a required entry? Thanks!

Are you using the FPSE to validate your form? If so, what is the code that it has on there?

You might consider using JavaScript or server side code to validate the form since FPSE are dwindling down
