I also try to rerun Win 98 but can't get it to installed Thank you BJ

Everything you list points to the hard drive having failed.

The scandisk you ran from a Win98 boot disk only checked a RAM Drive the boot disk creates and will run very fast.

The AOL disk is not a bootable disk.

In the BIOS Setup [Del or F2 or F10, etc. during the early part of bootup] is a line about Auto-detect the hard drives, is it detecting a drive? If not, the hard drive has failed. It yes, then the hard drive may have lost the boot sector.
