We recently turned up a G350/S8300 at a location. When people page, for the first 5 seconds, the output is muffled/broadcast at a low volume. When the page lasts for longer than 5 seconds, the volume increases to the 'normal' setting.

Paging unit is a Valcom 206-A. We are running ASA 2.1.11. Here is trunk setup:

TRUNK GROUP

Group Number: 41 Group Type: wats CDR Reports: n

Here are current settings on Valcom:
SW1 down loop
SW2 down loop
SW6 up battery feed on

Valcom Documentation advises:
SW1 neutral
SW2 neutral
SW6 down

When these settings are made, however, users can't page.

Thanks in advance - klmnop

It almost sounds like the change in volume take place when Answer Supervision is received. You might want to try using trunk tyoe 'cpe' instead of wats and playiing around with the Answer Supervision field.

Are you using a TN747?

Called Valcom, changed the trunk termination to 600 Ohms.

We THINK volume is better. However, first part of page is getting lost. Users usually hear a dialtone; when dial tone stops, they start talking.

Thanks 4merAvaya.

We changed the outgoing dial type to automatic, and that did the trick.

Correction.... one minor issue still happening. Users dial the trunk access code, then a 1, but sometimes need to press 1 multiple times before they are able to start the page.

Any ideas?
