I have install the Valcom 2001 before with no problem. I have the MICS 7.0 PAGE port BL/G - G/BL connected to the block. I can;t seem to get any audio on my test set when I connect to lins R/BL - BL/R on the block which is where I would connect my speakers.. I can get audio when I connect to the W/BL - BL/W and place a SPEAKER page.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Page port is Black/Slate pair.

Yes I know, Black/Slate is connected to the Valcom and on the Valcom it is W/BL - BL/W

What is likely is that the page port on the Nortel does not process/pass DTMF tones. That is common. Do you need multiple zones of external paging? If not, then a V2000 will work fine. If you need the zones then you will need to use an open trunk port (simplest way) or an analog station port with a V9970 analog station page adapter fronting the V2003. ~ Mike

Make sure the battery feed switch (SW2) on the V-2003 is set to off if you're using the Norstar page port. Press Feature 62 then 1 from a Norstar set with your buttset connected to the red/blue pair on the Valcom. The Norstar passes DTMF over it's page port to signal the Valcom 2003.

thank you. I followed the troubleshooting guide and put my butt set on those two pins and I am not getting any audio however if I place my butt set on the white blue I can clearly hear the audio when I depressed the page speaker button it's coming through and it is getting into the valcom unit through the telephone cable and the page port just fine. I was wondering whether or not the Nortel is supposed to be passing a paging zone 1 2 or 3 via DTMF that might be the issue why the audio is not coming through on that particular port. Does anyone know how to simulate a DTMF on a page? I do know that I'm able to depress a DTMF button and I hear through my butt set but its still not activating that port. Also I had a spare 2003 unit I connected it and its doing the exact same thing. Thanks

As bcmfiftyfan posted press feature 62 then dial your zone access code or program a page speaker button with feature 62 in which case to page, you will press the page button then dial your zone code on the dial pad. It sounds like you are programming a zone page button on a phone and expecting it to pass the zone code to the Valcom that wont work. If you are going to use the page port then you will always have to enter the zone code from the dial pad. We have many of the Valcom V2003's in service on Norstars and have never had an issue.

When you press Feature 62 then "1" you should hear the "1" touch tone in your buttset with your buttset connected directly to the Norstar page port.

Check the AC line fuse on the V-2003 with 110 AC power disconnected.

Make sure the V-2003 is connected to a good working 110 AC outlet.

Make sure the battery feed switch SW2 on the V-2003 is set to off (down position).

Try a different 25 pair amp tail off the V-2003.

Try connecting your buttset to red/green on the V-2003, press Feature 62 then 2 from a Norstar set.

Try pressing Feature 62 then 4 for all page and see if you get any audio thru the V-2003 on rd/bl, rd/gn or rd/sl.

The Norstar digital set does NOT produce DTMF tones. Tone are produced by the trunk card. If you want external zone paging you must use a CO port interface.

I beg to differ. I've got a mics 7.0 and a cics 7.0 in my test lab and I can connect my buttset to either system's page port, dial Feature 62 then press any digit on the Norstar digital set's dialpad and hear the touch tones coming through my buttset. Try it out.
I use Norstar page ports with Valcom 2003 and 2006 zone paging controls all the time.
