Hi
I am trying to record an announcement and keep getting wave off tone after i press 1 to record. Any ideas?
thanks!!

Paste the announcment config to the forum.

Sounds like you might need to erase whatever is there first by pressing three.

I hope this is what you meant. I was recording all day. All announcment numbers were new, so nothing was recorded on any of them. When I got to the 7th announcement, I got the wave off. Tried removing and re-entering. Tried changing to a differnt number. Now I can't do anything on the board. Can't record, can't delete, keep getting the wave off tone.

No, I should have been more detailed. Do a "disp ann" and paste that.

Hope this helps. I think one of the the Ip Server interface board in the 01a cabinet? We only have one VAL board and it's in that cabinet. although I don't see errors or alarms

The phone doing the recording has to have console permissions in its COS.

Also make sure you do a "change ann" and make sure the protected line is set to "N". They once you finish recording change that back to "Y" for security.

Hi
Thanks for the input but everything is set up ok. Phone has console permissions. I was in the middle of doing this on my phone when this occurred.
I traced the call and got the following:

denial event 1092
announcement unavailable
d1 = 0x8b62
d2 = 0x29eC

I have a call into my vendor. Will let you know what I find. Thanks everyone!!

Hello, you mentioned that you were recording all day. How many announcements total do you have? I believe there is a 256 announcement limit, or 1 hr. of recording time; whichever occurs first.

I was able to resove the VAL board issue by going into Voice Announcement Manager and cleaning up all the old announcements that had been removed from the switch, but not here.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this.

NOW, here's another---
IP agent works from home and when phone rings, she only gets the first ring, then just flashes. We have about 10 agents set up the same way. IT tells me it's phone issue, but agent and IP station are the same as the others.
Any thoughts on this?

This extension might be set up for abbreviated ring. Check the station form to see if per button ring control is set to Y on page 2. If it is check on page 3 to see if any of the call-appr buttons on the phone have Rg: set to a if so change this to r.

No, per button ring is set to no. I really think it may be the PC settings, but when the agent is not logged in, the phone rings phone on the station. As soon as she logs in, the one ring starts. I have checked the station form and the agent form against one that works and there are not differences.
Will continue to look and let you know if I find anything. Thanks for the response

sorry for butting in.... Since we are on VAL boards.....

If you have three VAL boards will you need three IP addresses? and will list node names diaplay all three IP's?

cmcshane..
yes and yes...
separate IP for each VAL board, and list node-names will list them all...

hi Zen16,

Thought that myself. But, when I run a list node-names is only displays the IP of one VAL board, even that we have three....

hmm... when I do it on my system, it shows them all...

list node-names

NODE NAMES

Type Name IP Address
AUDIX audix 10 .0 .0 .0
IP AGAWAM 192.168.2 .2
IP CMS 192.168.2 .3
IP Clan-02 172.17 .0 .56
IP default 0 .0 .0 .0
IP procr 172.17 .0 .65
IP val1 172.17 .0 .54
IP val2 172.17 .0 .55

Not sure what verison you are, but, in newer version type "list ip-interface all" and it should show you what node-name/IP address is assigned to each card. Simply having a node-name is not enough, it has to be assigned to the card and you also need an ethernet data module assigned to each card. To look at the data module use "list data" you should see a ethernet type data module assinged to port 33 of the circuit pack.
