Val board how to 1

I have a definity gs3i using a TN2501 board. If I was to creat a .wav file using the correct format, am i know I'm able to ftp that file over to the val board? After that how does that get generated in the ch announcement field is it by name. ????
I'm lost.....anybody can help.... thanks...

You have 2 options: VAL Manager that does it all. (ftp the wav file and makes the correct announcement with extensions)
Or if you do it manually, you have to ftp the wav file and via "cha ann" you have to define an extension with the same name as your wav file. (without the ".wav") And then the relation between extension - wav is set!
