VAL Board - Can not connect to the VAL Source

When trying to do a backup......in ASA ....there is a error stating ...BACKUP ANNOUNCEMENT FAILED; CANNOT CONNECT TO THE VAL SOURCE

- Yes I can PING it from my computer.....
- I can still assign/record announcements..
- It still does have space left on the board

What am i missing?

maybe someone on the firewall side blocked ftp port 21?

the manual way is to 'enable filex' in CM, pop in the board number and a user/pass. If the board IP was 1.2.3.4 and you named the account 'board'...

if you have Linux CLI access to CM, you can ftp board@1.2.3.4 and see if you can get in and ls from there. If you can, and if you cannot FTP from your PC with a client like filezilla, then I'd reckon it's a firewall thing.
