Found a customer with intermittent clipping / chopping sound on auto attendant and mailboxes. Trunks are analog trunks and seem to be in good shape. Cannot duplicate with the trunk by itself. Is that a bad SD Card?
? Is it clipping the end of calls, start of calls, or during calls?
? Is it heard during calls or is this affecting message recording?
For analog trunks there are some NoUser source numbers to alter how much audio is heard at the end of calls (the far end hangs up, the voicemail starts recording disconnect tone until the IP Office hears enough of that to disconnect the call at its end, you don't want to hear that tone on the end of every message so the voicemail delete X seconds of the end of messages using a local based setting. But sometimes that locale setting doesn't match what is actually being used so you need to alter it). Look at VM_TRUNCATE_TIME on
However, you've said Basic - don't know how to use that on Basic Edition. If you can't, checking the locale settings are correct may be the only option.
Analog trunks. It is intermittent severe clipping noise during the auto attendant heard by the outside caller, if the caller leaves a message that noise is also heard in the mailbox. Can happen on any line randomly. You can hear the caller but loud noise overlaid on the audio. Again clipping / chopping type of sound.
the embedded voicemails have sometimes a problem with the audio.
You can save the recordings and then recreate the SD card then it will be OK for a while but it may come back.
It has a problem especially when there are a lot of messages in there and emptying the mailboxes helps a bit.
