I am having problems installing a DDS3 in a V880 under Solaris 10. I cannot get the O/S to recognize the drive. I have done a boot -r to reconfigure but still no luck . Can anyone assist in what steps I might look at to trouble shoot.

Assuming the DDS3 is 'hardware compatible' with the V880, ensure the V880 can 'see' the tape drive at the "Ok " prompt. (If the hardware can't 'see' the drive then the OS definitely won't be able to 'see' it)

Try:
ok show-devs
ok probe-scsi-all

I hope that helps.

Mike
