Hi
I am Using Intel 945GBV - running on Winxp Prof.. and I recently installed this Asus V8200 Ti200 AGP Card and I put this card because I thought it will allow me play some games but I am unable to it is restarting as soon as I try playing some games ....

Most of the games come work with Directx9. so even my computer is running on directx9.

When I try to play any game my system restarts or just hangs...

I downloaded drivers from nvidia ( latest and tried some old ones also) and from Asus ( latest and some older versions too) but nothing worked ..... kindly help.

thank you,
kewlcoder.

when i installed asus latest drivers and restarted.
i got the following error message

ASUS nVidia Series Shell has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: anvshell.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: anvioctl.dll
ModVer: 1.0.2.0 Offset: 0001093b

please help.

If the MB has onboard video, then make sure it's disabled either with a MB jumper, or in BIOS.

If there's no onboard video and the new video card is replacing an older one, then start in Safe mode, and make sure that the old card is removed from Device Manager, and its software is uninstalled.

Also, make sure the video card is fully inserted. Sometimes it needs a healthy push to fully seat.

Finally, that video card may be incompatible with DirectX 9.

hey
these new motherboads automatically disable the onboard video once an agp card is inserted.
and regarding support for directx9 i think it does support directx9......

and to be sure about uninstalling old drivers i actually re-installed windows..... so no question of old drivers.

Hey,

Note the comment in the following link -
"and DX9 compatibility-- something the Ti 4200 lacked."

And since the TI 4200 is a newer card than the TI 200, then the latter also does not support DX 9. It is only compatible up to DX 8.1 per the Asus site.

please read the article they have tested the card asus v8200 GeForce3 for detonator drivers what ever the results ( just that it did not score well ) the card was tested with directx 9

that means it works with directx9.... so what else might be the problem..

my motherboard is not that old ... to say it won't support the card...n it does support 4x AGP..... so what else might be problem.

info Nvidia has given regarding the download of drivers.... that is 56.72 for GeForce.
