V8200 AGP Problem

Hi
I am Using Intel 945GBV - running on Winxp Prof.. and I recently installed this Asus V8200 Ti200 AGP Card and I put this card because I thought it will allow me play some games but I am unable to it is restarting as soon as I try playing some games ....

Most of the games come work with Directx9. so even my computer is running on directx9.

When I try to play any game my system restarts or just hangs...

I downloaded drivers from nvidia ( latest and tried some old ones also) and from Asus ( latest and some older versions too) but nothing worked ..... kindly help.

when i installed asus latest drivers and restarted.
i got the following error message


ASUS nVidia Series Shell has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

please help.

BEST PRACTICE FOR VID CARD INSTALLATION;
FOLLOW MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS TO A "T".

OR.....if ya didnt.....

Put the card that worked back in.(If there was one, see below) Boot into safe mode.
Remove all instances of any other card from your system devices.Then all software for that card.If it created a driver folder somewhere, like c:\nvidia , remove it so windows wont scavenge it. Make sure you do not have an on-board chipset enabled.Check the bios for that.
If you didnt have a card before in the AGP slot, and the video worked, thats most of your problems.
ALWAYS USE the latest WHQL nvidia detonator drivers for an nvidia card, stay away from oem, whenever possible.
You will have to reinstall directx, it sometimes doesnt give up old configurations easily.
After all this, trust me, I know some would disagree, go to windows update and download the nvidia driver update...its older than the detonator from nvidia, but more stable for YOUR PARTICULAR CARD. REBOOT.
The reason I say download and install the detonator driver first is because there are a couple features you wont get from just the microsoft "safe" driver.
