Guys
I do have two storage pools in a new v7000 and two mdisks ( one mdisk mapped to one storage pool ). Both mdisks are RAID-10 but of different sizes ( 3+3 and 2+2).
I do have my DB2 volume ( database plus logs ) on same volume but volume is under IO stress recently with almost 85% utilization.
Question is that how to improve this situation?
what is best practise in V70000 ? i mean having mutiple mdisks into one storage pool is more recommended from IO performance improvement point of view or one-to-one mapping between mdisks and storage pool is recommended by IBM?
I am thinking to keep one-to one mapping between mdisks/pools as it is and thinking to move DB2 log fileystems to another seprate volume ( on second mdisk/pool of 2+2 configuration)?
Will this data movement/IO splitting on multile mdisks/pools help me in improving performance situation?Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for help!
