We are in the middle of testing our upgrade from v6 to v8. While doing this we noticed that on some of our cyrstal reports when setting the data location to the test database it is now asking us to map some fields. Example: REORDLVL was in IV00102 and is no longer there. I tried using tools in the menu and then fields to look it up that way. I see the field in Inventory but when I click on it no tables appear in the list of tables that would show where it lives. I see they have added many new tables and figure maybe that now this is part of new tables. Being that reordlevel field no longer exists but within one of the other fields maybe the same value under a new field name.

So my overall question is how do I know what has been added in the way of tables, other than going table by table as a cross ref from v6 to v8 and how do I know what the new tables represent. I realize I can go to each table read the description and then study and test as to how they work. I did a search on Microsfts site but see no mention of this that I could use as a guide.

We have over 150 custom crystal reports and have only started reviewing and testing them. This could be a disaster. Some of these reports our users use as bibles for thier daily processes.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have you read the upgrade instructions. They will tell you what tables and descriptions that have changed. Once again though I do not think you can go directly from v6 to v8 that might be your problem also.

This is from great plains;

Please note there is not a direct update path from Release 6.0 to Release 8.0. The only update path is from Release 7.0 or Release 7.5. Please be sure to review the entire document thoroughly prior to updating to Release 8.0.
