who has a v440 and can check something for me?

If I run the date command in the OS it gives say 12:00

If I run /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/scadm date I get a different time, say 10:00.

I would think these time should be synchronized some how, but can't figure it out.

I am able to change the date on the sc card by logging into it and running the appropriate date command but there is no way that I am going to get it exact.

I am interested in what other people systems show, and if they have figured out how to synchronize them?

The reason I am playing around with this is if I need to replace them at a customer site I want to make sure the date and time match up (or does it matter, I would think so).

Also I read something about when you originally load the system it should sychronize the times, but I had to test a couple of cards and update firmware on them so the times are no longer matching, and I never confirmed this before moving things around. I am being lazy and don't want to reload since I have other equipment to test on this unit.

Thanks

Done as you requested, here in the UK.

# date
Fri Oct 27 16:21:16 BST 2006
# /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/scadm date
Fri Oct 27 15:21:17 2006

We revert to GMT (not British Summer Time - BST) on Sunday 29th Oct, so I'll repost on Monday. My guess is the sc card is showing GMT whilst the 'date' command is BST.

I hope that helps.

Here we go again ...

# date
Mon Oct 30 11:11:30 GMT 2006
# /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/scadm date
Mon Oct 30 11:11:31 2006

Please also note that we are running Solaris 8 on this box.

I hope that helps.

Mike
