Help, I can't delete database. When I select manage database and delect database name, the delete button is grayed out. Any ideas?

I found this out the hard way (and besides I don't use MSDE anymore, installed MS SQL Server instead = reduces headaches), you have to have more than one discovery database in your list to do backups or deletions. Once you have this, then you load the other autodiscovery db and then you can delete the one you want. If you go in and "manually" remove the database, autodiscovery/MSDE is completely messed up and you have to go through the most awful convoluted uninstall I've ever seen to get rid of it. Microsoft/Visio makes this the most evil process I've ever seen. Take my word on this - DO NOT MANUALLY DELETE A DATABASE UNLESS YOU NEVER WANT TO USE AUTODISCOVERY AGAIN. Just a warning. Hi Phillip, saw your posting about MSDE and I hear what you're saying! I took a SQL Server course and tried to install the eval copy of SQL Server on my NT workstation and it only installed MSDE and now I can't remove it. Any ideas on removing it? (It won't let me remove it cuz it says the Service Manager is running, but I've stopped it.)
