i have an ACS that is burning up the 47v zener diodes. just now i've replaced the 100ohm series resistor with a 200ohm in hopes of lowering the current going thru the zener.

i would like to buy a replacement power supply but i don't know what will work. i MAY have v1 of the ACS as it does not have any version markings on it at all and is labeled "Lucent Partner". would it be on the front and marked with an R?

so. will other version power supplies work or does the v1 (if that's what i have) take a unique one. the system is up right now, is there a way to retrieve the version number?

just checked the release number via Feature 59...

ACS R1.1.1 CO1

You probably should replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors, since they are either open, leaky, or dried up! That will probably stop your zeners from burning up also, then change the resistor back to the proper value...

Other wise you could get a replacement ACS R6, R7, or R8 processor from Metroline Direct for cheap @ metrolinedirect.com.

That's the first thing I do with the power supplies when I buy a used ACS is to replace all the caps, and the diode that always gets hot and burns the traces off the board. Putting in a bigger resistor will change the voltage drop and may cause the station ports to get noisy.

Given the revision of the processor, I would suggest, as Syquest did, upgrading to either an R6 (the final Partner ACS 3x8 processor) or an R8 (the final Partner ACS processor).
