Can anyone tell me why when i run this query..

select * from v$session

I get four instances with no user name and no program?
That says the session is active and user is the type?

When I check the v$bgprocess file it says these processes are these..

ÐÞÜ SNP0 Job Queue Process 0
Ðâ SNP1 Job Queue Process 1
Ðå, SNP2 Job Queue Process 2
ÐèT SNP3 Job Queue Process 3

I ma having an argument with the individual who manages our DB and he seems that somebody is hacing past our firewall and stealing information. Thanks for your help....

SNP Processes are standard Oracle background processes, mostly used to process queued jobs. If you are not using oracle job queues then check your init...ora file for the presence of the parameter JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES, set this to 0(zero), or remove it, as the default is 0. If you are using off the shelf applications and are not sure if you are using job queueing, then check with vendor before switching off the SNP processes.
