I have a customer who has a Merlin Magix with a Voice Mail on slot 08. Everything is working like a bell. However I keep getting a transient error of this type: NOT IN OP MODE.Error 7801 slot 08 port 00.

The manual says to troubleshoot the module. But there is nothing to trouble shoot.
Does some one has had this type of error on the V/M or other board? What should I do? I've had ask some programmers on this problem I they say not to worry about.

I would check the date/time(s) of the error. The voicemail does a partial reset and time check with the processor around 2am daily - which is what the error may be referring to. At that time the voicemail is "down" for a short period. If you think it "may" be something more significant - there is an error log in the voicemail that you can access thru the RS232 connection from a Laptop serial port using Hyperterminal. One of the menu choices - if you login as "Tech1000" is the error logs.

Quote "There is nothing to troubleshoot" The board might be going bad, doesnt happen often, but I did just have 1 that was less than a year old go bad. The "board Controller" test, confirmed that there was no response from the board. Try that...

The board controller test is irrelevant for a messaging module - just not designed for it. Same for the loop-back test.
