Would someone be able to help with creating a v-lookup, if this is what I should use. I have a list of information in excel on one tab. On another tab I would like to create something like an interface. In that interface I would like to click on a box labeled as a specific category - when I click on this box I would like a list to be created from the list of information in the first tab. I hope this makes sense.

What I want the user to do is click on a box and get the information he is looking for based on a category versus having to scroll through a list of information.

hi,

a v-lookup returns one related value based on a lookup value.

Use VBA to "Find" the value in the range of the list, and then enter the data on the sheet you want. Put it within a Do...While loop with the condition that it continues to run continues to find instances of the desired value. The interface can be exactly as you want. When the "category" is selected using whatever form control you choose, the VBA macro will execute, finding the value you associated with that control.

It's already been mentioned, cheche24, but probably your easiest method for this will be using Filters.

If you're using Excel 2007 or 2010, you can make your data selection into a table, and that will give some other benefits other than the built-in filters.

So then, all you have to do is click on the dropdown by any column header, and select the value you want to filter by... try it out and see.
