v.42 Disconnect

When I run Total Scrutinizer to check a specific phone line for any line related issues, sometimes I see the user log off and the Total Scrutinizer program tells me it was because of a v42 disconnect command. Anyone know what this command means or if its a command sent by the server or from the users modem?
