v 4.0 CRM - Excel pivot table data

I have an excel pivot table (v2003) that I started with an advanced find in CRM. I want to add a view to the pivot table and the view is accessing data in a different database. I can refresh the data but other users are getting "cannot access [database the view is looking at] under the current security context"

Is the problem on the view? I have given access to the same roles that other CRM views have. Or is it something in the pivot table?
