We support a large number of non-profit groups and charitable institutions. We have an NEC UX5000 phone system utilizing SIP Trunking through a VOIP daughterboard. We have one SIP trunk with enough concurrent call paths to support the call traffic we experience on a day-to-day basis.
On average, we are experiencing a busy signal on 1 out of every 7 outbound calls. Usually we hang up and dial the same number again...and the second attempt is successful. However, we are concerned that this issue is causing busy signals for incoming calls as well. When checking the error log on the phone system, we noticed there may be a correlation between the errors and the registration timing interval with the SIP Provider. The SIP Provider recommend 120 seconds between each interval. The available intervals are between 60-65535 seconds.
Has anyone experienced similar symptoms with a recommendation on how to proceed?
Thank you as always for all of your help.
