I have some questions about the UUI field. I beleive this field can only be 16 characters long (we have an Avaya G3R v9.5) correct? Can the UUI field have both alpha and numeric characters? Any info. is appreciated. Thanks
UUI = User to User Information. Typically used by CTI apps to pass data. Depending on the CTI server and versions, this could be 32 bytes or 96 bytes on an R9.x switch.
ISDN PRI will allow UUI to pass from one Definity to another if the trunk UUI setting is set to shared. This, a call can be qualified by digit collection or IVR at one location, then BSR or LAI or otherwise route to the other location with the collected data allowing a CTI app on the other switch to collect the UUI and process the call accordingly.
