Hi All,
How to configure sendmail.cf for use of UUCP and which files will be affected?? Do I need to do the some initial set-up ?? I am using HP-UX 11.31 and sendmail v8.13.3
Thanks in advance.

If there is any way I can talk you out of this madness, the wold would be a much happier place. That being said, it is better to edit the sendmail.mc file then compile it to create sendmail.cf. Now is where the madness starts. You will add the uucp mailer to the bottom of sendmail.mc. It must be defined after your smtp mailer. There a four different uucp mailers. Because of the way the uucp protocol works, the sender needs to be configured the same as the receiving end. Since I have no clue of what that could be, I can't help beyond this point. What you might want to do is get with the party who requires uucp and have them send you their sendmail.mc file. You will see which of thew four uucp mailers they are using and which of the macros they have included. Once you have edited your to get along with theirs, you are ready to use the m4 macro compiler to build the sendmail.cf file. Just use this command:

Code:
m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

Of course you will need to use the correct path for you particular system. If there are more than one domain that require uucp, then you will also need to create a list for sendmail to use. All this is not for the faint of heart. It is old and obsolete and many of us have forgotten a lot of the patriculars. I can help you with some very general stuff but that's about it. As I recall, even back in its heyday it was a lot of trial and error to get things just right. Good Luck.
