UTP Cable length problem

Even if the length of a UTP cable is short, it nowadays cannot transmit signals beyond about 33 feet, is there any special order for the 8 Wires in the cable, to transmit signals farther.
I have (3Com) Hub + 3Com NIC's
The problem is when connecting one computer with then Hub across UTP cable (straight through) about 13 Meter length the Port Led on the Hub blinking On-Off.
This case frequently happened with more than Network .
