I have been asked to utilize a laptop equipped with an Verizon Aircard for our Domains access point out to the World Wide Web. Here is what I have.
1 Layer 3 switch (Cisco 3550)
1 server acting as my DC/Exchange server connected to my L3 Switch
8 Laptops connected to the L3 Switch.
Network Scheme working as such: 192.168.112.1/25
Domain integrity is fine. I have DNS resolving on all machines and all are talking to each other. The laptop with the aircard is not on the domain however and if possible, I want to keep it that way.
I have had success with doing this, but it resulted in my shooting dns in the foot and not allowing domain integrity.
I have tried utilizing split dns as a solution, but without a firewall that idea went away quickly.
I have also tried setting the ip of the aircard laptop as the domain machines proxy server but no luck there either, and I'm not familiar with setting up a proxy server.
Any ideas and solutions will be welcomed.
